I grew up In Bielsko Biala, Poland, a small city famous fro goose down comforters. Its about an hour from Krakow. When I was a kid, I ate a lot of potatoes and cabbage. I am the oldest of 4 boys. My dad, Leszek, liked to make pickles in the basement and watch soccer. My mom, Danuta, loved to cook. She made blueberry pierogis and red beet soup. My favorite was farmer's cheese mixed with sardines. Bread is optional. She loved to travel and she would take us out of town on the weekends.

When I was 17, I dated an artsy blond girl named Olga who was a photographer. I always wanted to be an artist but I was horrible at drawing. In the few months I was around her, I realized that I had a knack for photography. That pretty much sums up how I became a photographer.

I moved to Michigan when I was 20, got a degree in Fine Arts and Photography while I parked cars at night and learned English from my 3 roommates.

Fast forward 10 years later. I live between New York and LA and make images for a living. I have received numerous awards for my Tree series from the International Photography Awards. (2004, 2005,2006). In 2009 PDN has included me in their choice of 30 emerging photographers to watch.

I like shooting men's and women's fashion, edgy food stills and fine art trees image. I still like red beet soup and blueberry pierogis, but also like beef with broccoli and spicy tuna rolls.

I am looking forward to future editorial and advertising assingments and seeing you at my gallery opening.
